The Retreat for 2010 which took place at the beginning of June, was well attended and benefitted all taking part in it. Fr. Leo Edgar OP entitled the Retreat “Hope in a hopeless world” which gave rise to some challenging talks and lively discussion. Next year’s Retreat has already been booked at the same venue in Kent for the weekend June 10 - 12, 2011 which will allow those who are working during the week to attend. If you would like to find out more general details concerning our retreats, please contact us. In previous years we have tried to provide more than one retreat in different parts of the country, each year, unfortunately most retreat centres will not accept guide dogs and this restricts who can attend. If you know of any suitable centres that do allow guide dogs, we would be very pleased to hear from you. Another major problem we have, is the lack of sighted companions to accompany blind retreatants. This lack may well cause the retreat programme to be reconsidered for future years. |
